Pediatric dentists recommend that first dental visits should begin around your baby’s first birthday.  Baby’s teeth should be kept clean by wiping with a soft cloth at least daily.  Parents are encouraged to brush or clean baby’s teeth with a soft cloth or toothbrush and water only.  Do not use toothpaste until recommended by your child’s dentist.  Children should begin to brush their own teeth by at least the ages of 5-6, but practice with adult supervision should begin much earlier.
